Job Summary

The primary function is to serve as a patient chaperone during sensitive examinations and perform front desk tasks as directed. Lab sweeps may also be required depending on the workflow in the radiology department.

Responsibilities*

Patient Care Services (80%)

  • Serve as a chaperone during sensitive Radiology exams

  • Observe examination or procedure, including the point of physical contact for patients and technologist

  • Assist with direct care duties before, during, and after sensitive exams

  • Transport lab specimens from clinic to laboratory (depending on radiology department workflow)

Office Duties (20%)

  • Greet patients upon arrival and determine if they need to be scheduled or checked in for an examination

  • Schedule ultrasound exams while providing patients with exam preparation instructions

  • Check-in patients for their examinations

  • Assist with inventory and supply ordering

  • Clean rooms and equipment

  • Answer incoming phone calls and direct to the appropriate department

  • Monitor waiting area activity and assure a clean, organized, and safe environment

Required Qualifications*

High School Diploma or equivalent or GED

Working conditions

Work Schedule: Generally Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm but hours may vary depending on the operating needs of the clinic.

Physical requirements

  • Remain in a stationary position for long periods of time/ up to 1 hour at a time

  • Ability to transport and move work equipment weighing up to 20 lbs.

Selected candidates whose start date is 4/1/2024 or before 8/31/2024, will not be eligible for the university FY24-25 salary/merit plan unless otherwise notified.

This role may have reporting obligations under Title IX and Clery.

Authorization to work in the U.S. is a precondition of employment and applicants for this position will not be sponsored for work visas.

The posting salary range is $32,800 - $37,650 - Salary may vary depending on qualifications, experience, and education of selected candidate Salary may vary depending on qualifications, experience, and education of selected candidates.

Relocation will not be offered for this position.
