Job Summary
The Department of Slavic Languages & Literatures at the University of Michigan invites applications for one 11.11% non-tenure track instructional position (Intermittent Lecturer) for the Winter 2025 term, the first seven-weeks, January thru February. The budget for this position is for winter term, 2025 only. The candidate must be qualified and prepared to teach an undergraduate course on the topic of Albanian literature.
Responsibilities*
Responsibilities will include teaching, in English, one mini-course (one credit) in the field of Albanian Literature. The course will be offered one day per week for two hours (14 total contact hours) during the first seven weeks of the winter term 2025 (Mondays, 4:00-6:00PM). The instructor will be required to hold at least two office hours on campus each week the course is offered and maintain regular contact with students through email/Canvas. The specific topic of the course offering is subject to approval by the Chair of the Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures. The scheduled days/time of the course will be communicated upon hiring.
Required Qualifications*
Requirements for this position include a record of excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level, and an interest in the development and application of innovative instructional methods.
M.A. or recent Ph.D. (preferably in Slavic Studies or Comparative Literature is required as well as English fluency.
Prior teaching at a North American institution of higher learning is highly preferred.

Applications will be selected based upon meeting the required qualifications, demonstrated subject matter expertise, documentation of successful performance in the classroom, and meeting the instructional needs of the Slavic department.
