Purpose:
Reporting directly to the Assistant HR Director, as the Human Resources Manager (HRM) you will be a partner for a portfolio of staff departments (200 staff) collaborating with department and school leadership to provide guidance, interpretation and consultation on policies and practices throughout the employee lifecycle from hiring staff to offboarding staff. You will collaborate with the Talent Management Specialist and the other Human Resource Manager to implement the training and development strategy for staff including facilitating training sessions. You will ensure prompt, efficient and professional responses to employee relations issues and draw upon experience and provide technical guidance to other HR staff members.
Responsibilities*
HR Business Partner (75%)
Partner with department leaders and managers on hiring, workforce planning, and addressing organizational needs.
Support staff development, including career growth and internal mobility opportunities.
Manage FMLA/ADA cases in collaboration with Work Connections.
Provide guidance on performance management, including development plans, training, and corrective actions.
Coach managers and employees on HR policies, employee relations, and leadership development.
Conduct internal investigations and recommend resolutions.
Facilitate offboarding processes, including exit interviews and improvement recommendations.
Analyze and present key HR metrics to support goals.
Training and Development 20%
Collaborate on staff training strategies and facilitate workshops on topics such as onboarding, performance management, and employee engagement.
Manage performance evaluation processes and lead program participation and effectiveness.
Other 5%
Maintain knowledge of university benefits and legal requirements.
Recommend process improvements to enhance HR operations.
Update HR systems and optimize data reporting.
Support cross-departmental collaboration and special projects.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications*
Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum of five (5) years of human resources management experience including recruiting, performance management, employee relations, and training and development
Minimum of two (2) years experience in facilitating training
Experience working directly with individuals in senior leadership positions
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft office applications
Working knowledge of relevant federal and state employment laws

Salary Information : The posting range for this position is $73,600 to $95,100. This posting range reflects multiple factors involved in determining compensation, such as skills, experience, training, certifications, and other organizational needs. At Ross, it is not common for new hires to be offered a salary at the upper end of the range . Compensation decisions are based on the details of each situation.
