Gift of Life Michigan Clinical Administrator in Ann Arbor, Michigan

Summary

In alignment with Gift of Life Michigan's core purpose and core values, the Clinical Administrator serves as the primary contact for physiological management during active organ donor cases as well as guiding donor management, assessing need for diagnostic or other procedures, and supporting active clinical teams.

Duties & Responsibilities

The following job duties and responsibilities are stated in broad terms and not intended to be inclusive.  Those in bold are essential duties of the position:

  • Advise clinical staff with evaluation and screening of potential organ donors and provide direction in determining potential.
  • Support clinical staff with onsite evaluation of potential organ donors, authorization, and organ/tissue donor registry efforts and determine pathway moving forward for organ donors.
  • Guide donor management/case progression and organ allocation in accordance with regulation and established protocols such as Organ Procurement Transplant Network (OPTN) policy, Gift of Life policy, and Association of Organ Procurement Organization (AOPO) standards, consulting Medical Director or designee as needed.
  • Review relevant information from medical record and supporting documents to have a clear clinical picture of the potential donor's hospital plan of care.
  • Participate in case reviews for the purpose of increasing knowledge of donor management strategies and increasing organs transplanted per donor.
  • Participate in quality improvement projects with minimum of one Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) annually.
  • Contribute to the achievement of individual or group goals and related department goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
