Job Title: Shipping Control Specialist

Job Description

This position will be directly responsible for optimal and efficient material flow and ensuring the accuracy of each material shipment, with ZERO Shipping Defects.

Responsibilities

• Manage the movement of incoming and outgoing raw materials.

• Verify the quantity of delivered products with the packing slip and note any discrepancies before signing for delivery. 100% accuracy is expected.

• Scan all loads as required, verify accuracy, and store materials in the proper warehouse area.

• Arrange shipments as needed to outside customers or offsite warehouses and complete all required paperwork.

• Ensure proper labeling of all materials, including tracking partial raw material gaylords and concentrate drums.

• Support production, as needed, with material handling duties.

• Perform general housekeeping duties in the warehouse.

• Participate in periodic inventories, including cycle counts.

• Effectively communicate and work from verbal and written instructions.

• Practice and reinforce safe work habits and company policies and procedures.

• Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalency.

• 2 years of shipping/warehouse experience preferred.

• 1 year of standup forklift experience preferred.

• RF scanner and computer experience preferred.

Work Environment

Shift: 1st, 6am-2pm, Monday-Friday (flexible start times of 7am or 8am available). The plant has recently changed management and is now focusing on 'Lean' manufacturing to increase efficiency. While the facility can be warm, there are cooled areas for maintenance. The dress code requires pants and steel-toed boots. The warehouse department comprises a small team of two people.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of ANKENY, Iowa.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00/hr.
