Rewind various electro-mechanical equipment such as: single phase motors, three phase motors, brakes, DC fields, armatures, wound rotors,
transformers
and coils.
Prepare to rewind electric equipment by taking and recording data on the winding data card before heat stripping the equipment to be rewound. Put equipment in the burnout oven and /or burnout by hand to burn off the varnish to enable
strip
p
ing
to get the data from the winding or coil.
When stripping a
motor,
you will need to be able to
determine
how it is connected, the number of leads, wire size, number of wires in hand, span of the coils, turns per coil and end extensions.
After you have determined the
data,
you will need to be able to check if it is correct on the EASA computer program.
