Alaska Overview

ConocoPhillips Alaska, Inc. is Alaska’s largest crude oil producer and largest owner of exploration leases, with approximately 1 million net undeveloped acres at year-end 2023. The company produced an average of 195 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day (MBOED) in 2023. ConocoPhillips Alaska holds major ownership interests in two of North America’s largest legacy equivalent per day conventional oil fields, both located on Alaska’s North Slope: Kuparuk, which the company operates, and Prudhoe Bay. Additionally, ConocoPhillips Alaska owns and operates several fields on the Western North Slope. The company also has an ownership interest in the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System and owns and operates the Polar Tankers fleet.

Job Description

The Technical Computing Environment & Mobility Analyst provides support and contributes to the success of the organization by providing technical services to the Alaska Business Unit through day-today operations and strategic leadership. This role is part of the Alaska IT Infrastructure and Local Support team within the Alaska Digital Technology organization.

We seek a motivated and ambitious individual who enjoys collaborating with clients, enterprise teams, and management to identify business requirements and provide solution alternatives. This role requires utilizing technical knowledge to design, build, and deliver solutions in a technical computing environment. Responsibilities include hands-on technical support and troubleshooting, as well as budgetary work for short-term and long-term forecasting of virtual computing design and refresh. The ideal candidate should possess extensive experience in IT infrastructure, including lifecycle management, business requirements gathering, solution design and architecture, hands-on technical capabilities, and the ability to clearly articulate and communicate solution benefits and risks.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Provide technical support for deployment, troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of laptop, workstation, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, and blade hardware on Windows 64bit platform

  • Collaboration with other ConocoPhillips support groups such as Applications, Audio Visual, PC Desktop, IT projects, Telecom, and enterprise teams

  • Interface with ConocoPhillips GGRE users as part of daily function

  • Developing working relationships with Business Analysts and GGRE Technology leads for Data management, Storage, and Applications support

  • Providing recommendations for enhancements to service delivery and technology for GGRE and virtual computing community

  • Manage hardware lifecycle for virtual computing environment including procurement, implementation, disposal, inventory management, and budgeting

  • Managing small to medium local projects for and participating in IT initiatives in alignment with global standards

  • Deploying and troubleshooting corporate managed iOS and Android mobile devices (i.e. iPads, iPhones, tablets)

Basic/Required:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer

  • 1 or more years of experience with Microsoft Windows Operating Systems with direct experience in diagnostics, troubleshooting, and problem solving for hardware, software, and OS

  • 1 or more years of direct experience in diagnostics, troubleshooting, and supporting Virtualization and Hypervisor Systems

  • Beginner level knowledge of troubleshooting and deploying iOS and Android mobile devices

  • Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to travel up to 10% of the time

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in MIS or Computer Science or other IT/IS related field

  • Advanced level technical problem-solving skills. Able to quickly grasp different concepts, and apply the knowledge creatively and intelligently to the solution of complex problems

  • Intermediate level knowledge of Upstream business and GGRE application portfolio

  • Intermediate level knowledge of a broad range of IT technologies including WAN/LAN/Cellular, COE Desktop, Core Business Applications, Virtualized Systems, iOS/Android mobile devices, and Desktop products

  • Intermediate proficiency in developing well-structured content and delivering presentations to small or medium-sized groups, with a focus on clarity, engagement, and effective communication

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with direct customer interaction

  • Ability to champion change in 24x7 on call support rotation

  • Ability and willingness to work after hours and weekends as business requirements demand.
