Denali Universal Services (DUS) Security Officer: BBNC in Anchorage, Alaska
Description
Under the supervision of the Security Director, the employee provides protection of work sites, personnel and assets from events such as assault, theft, vandalism, harassment, and other disruptive incidents.
This is a rotational position. Candidates can expect to work on a one week on/one week off schedule.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent
At least one year of law enforcement, military or security experience, preferably working in corporate building security
State of Alaska Unarmed Security Guard License (or able to obtain)
Valid driver’s license
First Aid/CPR/AED certification (or able to obtain)
Able to proficiently speak, read, understand and write English.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Enforce client policies and procedures
Provide protection of work sites, personnel and assets from such events such as assault, theft, vandalism, harassment and other disruptive incidents
Control access of personnel, materials and equipment to and within the work sites.
Perform security patrols of the work sites
Respond to general alarms, power outages, broken water/power lines and security breaches of any kind
Utilize Microsoft Office and other commonly used computer programs
Maintain radio/telephone communications
Willingness to perform others duties as required
Ability to work in a constant state of alertness in a safe manner
Willingness to work at various locations as required

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
The majority of work is performed in a professional office setting with a wide variety of people with differing functions, personalities and abilities.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The employee’s work requires routine walking, standing, bending and carrying items. Applicant will be required to successfully complete a post-offer pre-hire physical and functional capacity exam (FCE).
