Carlile Transportation Logistics Coordinator in Anchorage, Alaska

Description

Essential Duties

• Operate safely and in compliance with all established HSSE policies and procedures

• Coordinate freight shipments, entering, maintaining and updating TruckMate on a regular basis.

• Prepare and review ad hoc reports for customers as requested

• Field incoming calls and emails, responding appropriately and timely to customer inquiries

• Enter orders received verbally (over the phone) or via e-mail into software system (TruckMate)

• Effectively present information and respond to questions from shippers

• Must be able to understand a variety of diagrams from customer and deal with abstract and variables

in freight shipping requirements

• Work closely with operations to facilitate requests

• May review invoices for accuracy from service provider prior to billing process

• Will be responsible for authorizing quotes for point-to-point moves

• Other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required

• An associate’s degree in business administration, or a related discipline is preferred

• Three to four years of previous industry-related experience is required; must have knowledge of

software management system; TruckMate preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Must be proficient in MS Office suite of applications including Word, Outlook and Excel

• Proven ability to multi-task and work under pressure while meeting deadlines

• Demonstrated attention to detail and work in a timely, accurate and efficient manner

• Must be able to work independently, be self-motivated, be a problem solver and goal oriented, and

also work in a team environment

• Must be able to prioritize daily task and assignments

• Must be able to adapt to change in a positive and constructive manner

• Must possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

• Must be able to work well with internal departments, vendors, and customers

• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and practical

situations

• An enthusiastic and positive work attitude with strong interpersonal skills

• Must have excellent customer service skills

• Ability to exhibit a professional attitude and appearance

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos

Working Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and other office related devices. The job is performed under minimal temperature variations and in a generally hazard free environment.
