This is a non-represented position (no union affiliation) and is subject to the provisions of the Personnel Rules of the Municipality of Anchorage.

HOURS OF WORK: Monday thru Friday; 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Example of Duties
Assist the Municipal Treasurer in managing the Treasury Division and supervise designated staff. Responsible for Revenue Portfolio Analysis ($780M) to monitor, manage, and project individual revenue sources. Must analyze and interpret complex financial and economic data, apply economic theory, and utilize statistical measures to track Revenue Portfolios for budgeting purposes. Apply formal, in-depth knowledge and experience with quantitative and qualitative economic modeling to analyze and forecast municipal revenues. Communicate key revenue observations to the Administration and Assembly, serving as a primary source of expertise for policy makers to make key fiscal decisions. Position works with high degree of independence, integrity and thoroughly documents work product. Uses advanced Excel knowledge to extract data from major databases. Implements rules, standards, and objectives by applying a broad and diverse knowledge of various Municipal Treasury functions. Serves as Trust Manager for the Municipality of Anchorage (MOA) Trust Fund ("Trust") Portfolio ($420M) until such time as the AMC is changed.
Minimum Qualifications / Substitutions / Preferences
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent and ten (10) years of governmental accounting/finance experience of which at least two (2) years have been in a supervisory or management position.
OR
Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting or a related discipline and eight (8) years of governmental accounting/finance experience of which at least two (2) years have been in a supervisory or management position.
OR
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting or a related discipline and six (6) years of governmental accounting/finance experience of which at least two (2) years have been in a supervisory or management position.
OR
Master’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting or a related discipline and four (4) years of governmental accounting/finance experience of which at least two (2) years have been in a supervisory or management position.

Military Service Interview Preference:

Individuals currently serving as a member in good standing in the National Guard or the organized military reserves who wish to be considered for interview preference as permitted in Municipal Personnel Rules 3.30.031 D must attach proof of current service to the application. Proof of current service can be shown by submission of a statement of service which, at a minimum, shows full name, date of birth, Social Security Number, date service began, branch of service, rank, name of command providing the information, and unit of assignment. The statement of service must be on a form or letterhead of the individual’s command organization and show the name, signature, title and contact information for the signer providing the statement of service. The minimum qualifications of the position must be met for preference consideration.
