Position: Lead Flutter Developer

Duration: 12 months with potential for permanent conversion

Location Options: Florida, California, or Washington

Project Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape a global employee portal application designed in Flutter for mobile and web platforms. You will work on cutting-edge app development technologies and be a part of a team pushing boundaries in this space.

As part of this role, you will:

  • Collaborate with one of the few teams leveraging Flutter Web technology.

  • Tackle complex technical challenges using the latest alpha builds of Flutter.

  • Work on scalable platforms hosted via Google Cloud, with a Firebase database and Java backend.

Key Responsibilities

As a Lead Flutter Software Engineer, you will:

  • Apply application development and engineering expertise to design, develop, test, and deploy new software applications or enhance existing ones.

  • Take ownership of development tasks, ensuring your deliverables integrate seamlessly into the overall platform.

  • Collaborate with team members to deliver solutions tailored to user needs.

  • Provide technical recommendations and leadership while contributing to the success of highly agile projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expertise in UI and UX patterns and best practices.

  • Experience with Flutter Web.

  • Understanding of Accessibility Best Practices.

cBasic Qualifications:

To thrive in this role, you should have:

  • Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams.

  • 5+ years of software development experience, focusing on building scalable, high-volume applications.

  • In-depth knowledge of design principles, patterns, and coding best practices.

  • 2+ years of experience in Flutter development.

  • 5+ years of mobile application development experience.

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Requirements

Requirements:

  • 80% hands-on Flutter development for mobile and web

  • Address technical debt and conduct architecture reviews

  • Collaborate directly with engineers on Flutter issue resolutions

  • Mentor team members and provide technical support

  • Contribute to architectural decisions and technical solutions

Technical Environment

  • Flutter (mobile and web) – experience coding with alpha versions

  • Google Cloud Platform – deploy, scale, and provide stability

  • Firebase – database management

  • Java – backend services

  • Strong Flutter development experience (Flutter Web experience is a plus)

  • A full-stack development background is beneficial

  • A Bachelor’s degree is preferred (or equivalent experience)
