Position Overview:

The Facility Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, safety, and operations of a facility or multiple facilities. This role ensures that buildings, equipment, and grounds are well-maintained, compliant with safety regulations, and meet operational requirements. The Facility Supervisor also coordinates with teams, contractors, and vendors to ensure efficient facility operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1.Facility Maintenance and Operations:

  • Oversee the hard services (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural components etc.) and soft services activities (cleaning, vending, interior plants etc.) within the building

  • Conduct regular inspections of the facility to ensure cleanliness, safety, and functionality.

  • Develop, implement and follow-up preventive maintenance schedules.

2.Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure the facility complies with local regulations.

  • Conduct safety checks and implement corrective actions if needed.

3.Vendor and Contractor Management:

  • Coordinate and oversee work performed by external vendors and contractors.

  • Evaluate service contracts and negotiate terms to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality.

4.Budget and Inventory Management:

  • Manage the facility’s budget: e.g. raising purchase orders, follow -up on invoices, preparation of yearly budget

5.Team Leadership:

  • Supervise the team on site

  • Provide guidance and performance evaluations for team members.

6.Energy and Sustainability:

  • Monitor and optimize energy usage to reduce costs and improve sustainability.

  • Recommend and implement environmentally friendly practices.

Qualifications:

Education :

HBO diploma FM or Hospitality Management or equivalent; degree or certification in

VCA-VOL is a plus.

Experience :

3+ years in facility maintenance, supervision, or a related role.

Skills :

  • Strong knowledge of building systems and maintenance practices.

  • Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards.

  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities.

  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.

  • Proficiency in using facility management software and tools.

  • Good communication, interpersonal skills, service minded

  • Excellent knowledge of Dutch and English (oral and written skills)

Working Conditions :

Primarily onsite in Amsterdam but occasionally travel to other DB sites in the Netherlands might be requested
