The Global Content Experience team is a WBD Marketing division that is committed to maximizing in-app content engagement, reducing churn and driving brand love on our streaming and HBO linear services globally. The team is responsible for content scheduling, merchandising, in-stream promotion and the operational processes and analyses required to maximize impact.

The VP of EMEA Streaming Merchandising is an innovative and collaborative leader who will oversee the team of merchandisers across the region managing Max, d+ services as well as Sports content experiences and act as a key member of the global merchandising team which drives in-app content strategy.

Reporting to the Sr. Vice President, Global Content Experience, this VP role will partner closely with key cross functional stakeholders in Product, Data, Brand Marketing and Operations and work to drive processes and tactics forward. This is a highly partnership driven position, requiring a trusted advisor who cultivates effective working relationships across various WBD stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the EMEA Merchandising team in the creation and implementation of goals, priorities and merchandising strategies to maximize the full potential of Max and d+ across all EMEA markets.

  • Partner with US Max Merchandising team to execute on key campaigns and align brand and execution globally, through regional EMEA lens.

  • Collaborate with EMEA Streaming Scheduling lead, to ensure content/inventory planning and merchandising are connected to drive maximum engagement and brand love.

  • Work closely with Merchandising Analytics within Content Experience team to establish KPIs and frameworks for execution.

  • Lead EMEA Merchandising efforts to “teach” machine learning, partnering with Content Experience Analysis and Product to identify key areas of input to propel the product experience forward

  • Ensure consistency of unique editorial voice across the product, in line with Brand Marketing framework

  • Partner with Marketing (Brand, CRM,) Product, Content Strategy and others as applicable, to contribute to the overall engagement strategy. Leverage regional merchandising strategies to improve content discoverability, RTP, and engagement/retention of customers.

  • Oversee resource planning for EMEA Merchandising team. Work with regional leads to identify resource constraints and escalate accordingly.

  • Ruthlessly prioritize and critically examine all workflows and team practices to ensure efficiency and effectiveness and endeavor to streamline whenever possible.

  • Serve as ECC key streaming representative, attending monthly meetings and presenting key business plans for review.

About You:

  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing a regional team across different countries and business structures.

  • Extensive professional experience in project management, stakeholder management, and executive communications.

  • Relentless pursuit of operations and work-flow efficiency and curiosity around AI, ML and new ways of working.

  • Data-Driven: extremely comfortable analyzing data and using it to optimize our work: level of effort vs consumer impact. Demonstrated evidence of implementing shifts in strategy based on quantitative evidence

  • Obsession with providing an excellent quality customer experience.

  • Understanding of Digital editorial operations, workflows, and live event creation tools.

  • Understanding of workflows related to tools such as editorial tools, DRM and CDNs.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Comfortable with collaborating across multiple business units globally.

  • Ability to comfortably work with various job functions such as Business Executives, Product, Data, Engineers, Technology Operations, and Vendors.

  • Must be able and willing to travel globally to meet with various team members and stakeholders.

  • Outstanding interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching and development skills.
