Job Title: Summer Intern – Market Intelligence Technology – Office of the CTO - Business Operations and Strategy

Location: S&P Global Market Intelligence, Amsterdam, the Netherlands

Duration: 16-week program during the summer months (target start date in July 2024)

About the Team: The S&P Global Market Intelligence Technology Office of the CTO (OCTO) Business Operations Team is responsible for a range of strategic and operational functions within the organization. The team focuses on financial discipline, vendor management, and aligning technical requirements with divisional forecasts and budgets.

Key deliverables for the team include strategic engagements and operational strategies that contribute to the overall operational excellence of the organization. They are also involved in managing large-scale technology programs that span across the division, emphasizing core enablement functions related to people, business operations, program management, and intelligence (reporting).

Role Summary: The Summer Intern will be an integral part of the Business Operations and Strategy team, contributing to the development and implementation of business strategies that drive growth and efficiency. The intern will work closely with senior leaders and stakeholders across the organization to analyze data, develop insights, and create presentations that inform strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and objectives.

  • Conduct financial and data analysis to support business initiatives.

  • Develop and deliver superior presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to senior management.

  • Participate in strategic projects that contribute to the operational excellence of the organization.

  • Assist in the creation and refinement of business processes and strategies.

What we are looking for:

  • Currently enrolled in a penultimate-year bachelor's or master's degree (or equivalent) program with a focus on finance, business administration, or a related field1 (https://spgl.sharepoint.com/sites/group_nam_mi_tech_cdf_m/SitePages/Early-Careers-Programs.aspx?web=1) .

  • Demonstrated interest in finance, data analytics, and business strategy.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent presentation creation skills, with the ability to convey complex information in an understandable manner.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, PowerBI and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Verbal Communication Skills: The ability to articulate thoughts and ideas effectively using oral communication skills in various forms and contexts

  • Critical Thinking Skills: The capacity to analyze situations or statements and determine their validity

  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Working effectively with others to achieve a common goal

  • Creativity and Innovation: The ability to go beyond traditional ideas, rules, patterns, relationships, or the like, and to create meaningful new ideas, forms, methods, interpretations, etc.
