Title: Linux Developer with OracleDB knowledge

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands

We are seeking a talented Linux Developer with strong database management expertise to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing Linux-based systems and ensuring the seamless operation of database environments. This role combines Linux system development with database design, performance tuning, and troubleshooting to support enterprise applications.

Linux Development & Administration:

• Develop, maintain, and optimize Linux-based software and scripts for system automation and application performance.

• Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain Linux servers to ensure high availability and reliability.

• Monitor and optimize system performance using tools like top, htop, and sysstat.

• Knowledge of networking (VLAN, switches, protocols, etc.)

Database Management:

• Design, implement, and manage relational and non-relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, OracleDB).

• Develop database schemas, tables, and views to support application requirements.

• Optimize database queries and performance tuning for high-load environments.

• Perform backup, recovery, and data migration tasks using best practices.

• Ensure database security, integrity, and compliance with organizational policies.

Integration & Collaboration:

• Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement CI/CD pipelines and containerized environments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Linux systems, databases, and application integration.

Documentation & Support:

• Maintain detailed documentation of Linux and database configurations, processes, and troubleshooting steps.

• Provide technical support to internal teams and end-users as needed.

• Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies in Linux and database management.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven experience in Linux development and administration.

• Strong expertise in database management systems (DBMS).

• Linux Foundation Certified System Administrator (LFCS).

• Database-specific certifications (e.g., PostgreSQL, OracleDB)

• Proficiency in Linux environments (e.g., Ubuntu, Centos, Debian).

• Knowledge of shell scripting and programming languages (e.g., Python, Bash, Perl).

• Hands-on experience with relational and non-relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, OracleDB)

• Familiarity with database query optimization and indexing strategies.

• Understanding of DevOps tools and practices (e.g., Ansible, Jenkins, Docker, GitHub, GitHub Actions).
