Boehringer Ingelheim Healthcare Compliance Manager in Amsterdam, Netherlands

THE OPPORTUNITY

Compliance is of utmost importance for Boehringer Ingelheim. As a pharmaceutical company, we work closely with physicians, clinics and patient organizations to drive medical innovation. Healthcare Compliance (HCC) means compliance with laws, codes, company guidelines and anti-corruption regulations that regulate the cooperation between the pharma industry and our partners in the healthcare sector.

As our Healthcare Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for the development, implementation, effectiveness, and continuous improvement of Boehringer Ingelheim policies, procedures and processes related to Healthcare Compliance to make sure that BI acts in full alignment with laws and regulations, including the local Code of Conduct for the pharmaceutical industry and the EFPIA Codes.

The working location is Amsterdam EDGE Building . You will report directly to our Medical Director.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, implement, and improve BI’s Compliance Programme regarding Healthcare compliance.

  • Regularly report to Local Management and MCO on the status of the Local Compliance Program for HCC so they are aware of the most important risks and can make informed business decisions and respond to anticipated opportunities and risks in a timely manner.

  • Perform and provide input regarding risk assessments and monitoring activities so all risks are recognised and managed appropriately.

  • Liaise and advise the business on HCC topics by understanding their needs and helping them anticipate and navigate changes in the regulatory environment.

  • Manage Healthcare Compliance incidents, in cooperation with functional experts, from reporting, case investigation to remediation.

  • Plan trainings to enable the business to act with judgment and integrity.

WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING TO THE TEAM

  • Masters degree with a focus on Legal, Business Administration,Biomedical and/or professional training in Healthcare Compliance and/or biopharmaceuticals.

  • 2+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry in a similar role.

  • Fluency in Dutch and English is required for this role.

  • Strong communication skills. You are able to explain complex compliance and legal issues in understandable way to non-experts.

  • You are a team player and enjoy collaborating and advising different business stakeholders.

  • You are not afraid to challenge decisions or others.

  • You inspire peers to adopt a compliance mindset and to strive for continuous improvement.
