We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as the Business Segment Manager Companion Animals MIDI. In this role, you will be at the forefront of maximizing the commercial success of all covered species, ensuring we meet our net sales, profit, and profitability targets. As the Business Segment Manager Companion Animals MIDI (including pets, i.e. cats, dogs, as well as the equine segment), you will provide leadership across our region MIDI, fostering effective collaboration and cross-functional teams within Boehringer Ingelheim. Your strategic vision will be crucial in developing and implementing regional business segment strategies that drives market success. You will work closely with the market to monitor key performance indicators, adapting and redirecting strategies as needed to ensure we stay on track. In addition to your strategic responsibilities, you will be an integral member of the MIDI Animal Health Leadership Team. Your contributions will be vital in shaping the future of our Animal Health Business and steering our processes. You will help develop policies and approaches that ensure our business objectives are met in a compliant and timely manner. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on our business and the broader Companion Animal industry.

This position is based in the Netherlands, Amsterdam and reports directly to the Head of Animal Health MIDI.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Influence and Strategic Direction: Demonstrate your ability to influence and set strategic direction effectively.

  • Strategic Planning: Lead the strategic planning for the Companion Animal portfolio, including comprehensive analysis of both internal and external environments.

  • Market and Competitor Analysis: Perform thorough marketing and competitor analysis to gain insights into opportunities and threats and define realistic objectives and optimal strategies and actions.

  • Marketing Expertise: Apply your advanced marketing skills and competencies to enhance our market presence.

  • Brand Planning and Budget Coordination: Coordinate the annual brand planning and budget cycle for Companion Animals to optimize MIDI sales potential.

  • Financial Forecasting: Manage financial forecasting, including sales and cost center budgeting.

  • Pricing Policy Alignment: Facilitate the alignment on pricing policies between regional and OPU’s.

  • Key Account Management: Oversee and manage the development and implementation of Companion Animal loyalty and discount schemes to secure and grow business profitably, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.

  • Cross-Border Account Strategies: Align Key Account strategies and activities for cross-border accounts.

  • Communication and Collaboration: Facilitate effective cross-border team collaboration with your excellent communication skills.

  • Leadership: Inspire and drive a high-performing team.

  • Required to abide by Code of Conduct: Regulatory and Pharmacovigilance responsibilities in order to maintain marketing authorizations for products.

WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING TO THE TEAM

  • Degree level Education in Life Science or Business Administration / MBA preferred.

  • Understanding of Companion Animal in- and outside the relevant operating countries.

  • Prior sales and marketing management experience and demonstrated competence.

  • Excellent communication skills to facilitate effective cross-border team collaboration.

  • Extensive knowledge and experience working with key stakeholders in the Companion Animals health industry, including government agencies, public health authorities, and diagnostic laboratories.

  • Strong entrepreneurial skills with a proven track record of driving both top and bottom-line performance.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence and set strategic direction effectively.

  • Expertise in strategic planning for the Companion Animal portfolio, including comprehensive analysis of both internal and external environments.

  • Proficient in financial forecasting, including sales and cost center budgeting.

  • Experience in leading teams is preferred.
