Job Description

This AutoCAD Technician supports all engineering and architectural disciplines with detailed drawing support. In addition, this discipline may be required to travel to areas in the local area outside of the military installation to verify design requirements and quality of work being performed.

Principal Accountabilities

(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.)

• The contractor shall take hand drawn plans, concept sketches, existing redlined drawings and schematics from engineers from multiple disciplines (i.e. civil/structural, mechanical, electrical and architectural) and use AutoCAD/AutoCAD Civil 3D/GIS to create presentable and accurate facility and infrastructure plans for concept, statement of work requirements and detailed finished drawings.

• The contractor shall operate large format plotters.

• The contractor shall develop and maintain AutoCAD/AutoCAD Civil 3D GIS systems or equivalent required by AFI’s and for presentation to MSAB Wing leadership.

• The contractor shall support the development of maps and relational databases to produce updated mapping, including, photo imagery, topography, floodplains, airfield pavements and features, roadway and transportation features, environmental features, facilities, and infrastructure (e.g., communications, electrical, water, sewer, gas, storm drainage, liquid fuels / Petroleum Oils & Lubricants (POL), etc.), by ensuring designs created in AutoCAD by the contractor are easily integrated into the government georeferenced AutoCAD Map database.

• The contractor shall provide surveying services and update base drawings.

• The contractor shall perform surveying of facilities and infrastructure of base real property and shall update base maps on AutoCAD to capture locations of facilities and infrastructure as required.

• Will perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge & Skills

• Ability to create architectural, electrical, mechanical, structural, and civil design drawings using AutoCAD 2018 or later, and knowledgeable in engineering tables, plans, and specifications

• Excellent communications, effective leadership and interpersonal skills

• Computer literate; ability to successfully use Microsoft Office and Project, etc.

• Ability to become familiar with the local culture and customs and to conduct themselves accordingly

• Additional knowledge/skills may be required by contract or assignment

Experience & Education

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Shall have at least three (3) years of experience with at least one (1) year of experience working with 2016 or newer AutoCAD software.

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.
