Description

We are offering a contract role for a meticulous Staff Accountant on Long Island, NY. This is an on-site role ONLY. The role involves providing accurate financial records and maximizing profitability and efficiency. The individual will be engaged in various financial tasks, from preparing financial reports to maintaining accounts payable and receivable.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare a range of financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

• Conduct daily bank transactions and deposits, ensuring data accuracy.

• Compile and analyze account information to prepare asset, liability, and capital account entries.

• Collect information to summarize the current financial status, preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other reports.

• Document financial transactions by entering account information.

• Utilize advanced Excel skills to sort, filter, perform complex calculations, pivot tables, and VLOOKUP.

• Employ skills in Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Month End Close, SAP HANA NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, SAP, and Balance Sheet Reconciliation.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Staff Accountant

• Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience with Bank Reconciliations

• Familiarity with General Ledger maintenance

• Ability to create accurate Journal Entries

• Experience with Month End Close procedures

• Proficiency in NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and/or SAP HANA

• Ability to perform Balance Sheet Reconciliation

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field preferred

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Attention to detail and problem-solving ability

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity

• Knowledge of current financial regulations and accounting standards

• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
