At Kistler Instrument Corp, machinists are key players in creating high-precision parts using both manual and CNC machines. They handle routine maintenance for their equipment and workspace, working closely with the machine shop supervisor and collaborating with other machinists, quality assurance, planning, and engineering teams to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Pay: $25.00 - $29.00 Hourly

Key Responsibilities: -Set up and operate various machining equipment (CNC lathes, CNC mills, Swiss lathes, etc.) to produce components with varying levels of complexity. -Oversee production on multiple CNC machines running simultaneously. -Read and interpret engineering drawings following ASME/ANSI standards. -Create, modify, and manage CNC machine programs using M & G codes and CAD/CAM software. -Adjust machine settings (speed, feed, depth of cut) as needed. -Manually deburr, finish, and inspect machined parts under a microscope. -Measure components to ensure they meet engineering specifications. -Follow production schedules and routing times. -Perform routine maintenance on machining equipment. -Keep the workspace clean and safe. -Fabricate and design complex parts and fixtures from sketches. -Handle other assigned tasks as needed.

Qualifications: -Required: High School diploma, GED, or equivalent -Must have a minimum of five years of hands-on experience as a CNC machinist -Knowledge and experience with various machining and metal-working equipment. -Skilled in using precision measurement tools like micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators. -Capable of working with a microscope for extended periods. -Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting and investigating failures. -General computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel. -Ability to organize daily tasks based on supervisor instructions. -Must be punctual, proactive, reliable, trustworthy, and maintain a positive attitude. -Experience with MRP systems (SAP experience is a plus). -Physical requirements: Ability to stand at a workstation for 50% of the workday, use a computer for 70% of the workday, and lift up to 25 lbs.
