Position Summary: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Application Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for recent graduates or individuals with a foundational understanding of HVAC systems who are eager to develop their expertise in chiller applications. The successful candidate will assist in the design, selection, and application of chiller systems for various commercial and industrial projects, ensuring optimal performance and energy efficiency.

What you will do:

The Application Sales Specialist will be responsible for the development and distribution of equipment proposals in support of the MTA-USA sales team. This individual will use application data provided by customers to correctly size and accessorize MTA industrial cooling products using the company’s proprietary selection software. This individual will ideally have experience in technical product selection, application design, and quoting. The successful candidate will be task oriented, organized, and a good communicator.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design and selection of chiller systems based on project specifications and client requirements.

  • Support the preparation of technical proposals, including equipment selection, system layout, and cost estimation.

  • Collaborate with senior engineers to analyze system performance and recommend improvements.

  • Provide technical support to sales teams, clients, and contractors regarding chiller applications and installations.

  • Conduct site visits to gather data, assess system performance, and ensure compliance with design specifications.

  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to chiller systems.

  • Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in chiller applications.

  • Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance technical knowledge and skills.

  • Maintain accurate documentation and records of projects, including design calculations, equipment specifications, and client communications.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, HVAC Engineering, or a related field strongly preferred.

  • Basic understanding of HVAC systems, particularly chiller systems.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Familiarity with HVAC design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) is a plus.

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Internship or co-op experience in HVAC or related field.

  • Knowledge of industry standards and codes (e.g., ASHRAE, AHRI).

  • Basic understanding of thermodynamics and fluid mechanics.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in various environments, including office settings and construction sites.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.

Compensation:

Base Pay Range: $54,000 - $76,000 plus overtime

Total compensation for this role will include a commission/incentive plan. Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed.
