Uniland Development Company Construction Field Superintendent in Amherst, New York

POSITION SUMMARYThe Construction Field Superintendent position is responsible for managing all on-site construction activities including but not limited to project schedule, contractor scheduling, coordination and sequencing of work, job site safety, job site maintenance issues and contract document compliance as it relates to the quality of workmanship and to confirm contract document compliance, establishment of punch list, punch list completion and complete customer satisfaction.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESI. Job Site Management and Inspections. The Field Superintendent shall:Manage the project schedule in the field and shall be responsible for maintaining the project schedule by interacting with the Project Manager and all subcontractors and suppliers involved with the project.Responsible for coordinating & sequencing all activities on-site. This includes scheduling subcontractors.Generate two-week look ahead schedules for purposes of planning & coordination.Daily completion of field reports at a minimum outlining contractor onsite, manpower for each contractor, and activities completed.Ability to run subcontractor coordination meetings.Maintain a clean and safe construction site by continually monitoring construction activity. Should issues arise, the Field Superintendent shall provide written notice to the vendor or subcontractor committing any job site violations. This shall also be forwarded to the Project Manager for his records and information. Also maintain and organize all SDS documentation.Confirm project compliance with all contract documents and specifications by physically monitoring site progress. This shall include measurement, visual inspection or requesting special testing or inspections to determine the accuracy of the work in progress. All inspections shall be documented with the date and photographed if necessary.Maintain photos which document progress of the work. These photos shall document any non- conforming workmanship as well as document daily, weekly, or monthly activity or progress at a particular assigned project.Review & resolve discrepancies between contract documents. When appropriate generate & submit Requests for Information (RFIs) to Project Manager for review. When required communicate directly with Architect and Engineer.Coordinate shop drawings and CDs to ensure proper coordination between subcontractors.Inspect all material delivered to the site and confirm compliance with project specifications including manufacturer's model number, color, etc. The Field Superintendent shall report any non-conforming materials to the Project Manager and the vendor or subcontractor providing such materials and/or services. The Field Superintendent shall record all model numbers of all equipment and materials at each site.Establish and maintain positive relations with the customer during job site visits, move-in and occupancy. The Field Superintendent shall assist the customer in any way possible to obtain complete customer satisfaction during and after the project completion.Establish a final punch list with the customer and/or Property Management Department. The punch list shall be distributed to all vendors and subcontractors. In addition, the Field Superintendent shall follow-up with all involved parties ensuring punch list items are completed in a timely fashion no later than ten (10) days after project completion.The Field Superintendent shall monitor the aging of all punch list items on a timely basis and shall submit a report to the Director of Construction on a timely basis indicating the status of all open punch list items including their location and time frame.The Field Superintendent shall document all as-built conditions that vary from the original plans and specifications. This information shall be forwarded to the appropriate Project Manager and Design Department as a record document. This includes tracking SK’s/ASI’s & Drawing revisions issued by the design team. II.
