This Provider Relations Advocate role with UnitedHealth Group will call on your knowledge, energy and commitment to making health care work more effectively.

The Dental Provider Relations Advocate will focus on our Medicaid line of business in the state of Texas. This role is responsible for a full range of provider relations and service interactions including being the face of UnitedHealthcare (UHC) Dental whether in-person or over the phone. The Provider Relations Advocate will be responsible for developing, enhancing and delivering provider education programs, addressing escalated high-level complex issues, and communicating resolution in a professional well written manner. The role also ensures the network composition includes an appropriate distribution of provider specialties through spot recruitment as needed.

We are looking for a Texas based self-motivator located in the Panhandle (Lubbock, Amarillo) area who is comfortable working independently, while enjoying the cost savings and flexibility of a telecommuter position. You’ll be given support and direction for success and recognized and rewarded for your performance in a challenging environment.

If you are located in Lubbock or Amarillo, TX area, you will have the flexibility to work remotely* as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the design and implementation of programs that build positive relationships between the dental plan, providers, practice managers, and internal stake holders

  • Address high-level escalated issues and communicate resolution to stakeholders

  • FQHC (Federally Qualified Health Centers) and large dental practice relationship owner

  • In-person visits for network maintenance, education, and ensuring solid provider relationships

  • Targeted Provider recruitment and retention as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in a network management related role, such as contracting, provider relations or provider services and/or experience working in a dental office

  • Demonstrated intermediate Excel skill set with ability to manipulate a large volume of data

  • Reside within the Panhandle (Lubbock, Amarillo) Texas area

  • Willing and able to travel 25% +/- depending on business need

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with MS Word and PowerPoint

  • Government Programs experience

  • Provider negotiation and contracting experience

  • Proven knowledge of Dental products/providers

  • Proven knowledge of claim processing systems and guidelines

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Solid interpersonal skills, ability to establish rapport and work well with others
