Inventory Coordinator

Position Description:

Performs supervisory and coordinative work in the operation of a specific program or departmental project. Responsibilities involve the coordination and supervision of the various functions and aspects of a specific program as well as the monitoring of program staff and operational procedures. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based on results obtained. May supervise program staff, volunteers and student assistants.

Major/Essential Functions:

  • Support Clinical & Professional Skills (C&PS) courses through the coordination and procurement of inventory in collaboration with the Inventory Manager

  • Proficient use of inventory management software and TTU procurement software

  • Monitor the use of inventory in the C&PS program and procure sufficient supplies while avoiding excessive surplus or inefficiencies

  • Assist in preparing supplies needed for upcoming C&PS, elective, and extracurricular wet labs

  • Analyze and contact various suppliers for product procurement

  • Coordinate incoming shipments to ensure all orders are inventoried into the proper systems and delivered to specific areas of the department for proper usage.

  • Troubleshoot inventory variances in collaboration with the Inventory Manager

  • Input data into inventory spreadsheets to track usage and also create invoices for products used in labs

  • When needed, assist with shipping and receiving for TTU SVM

  • Able to work with pallet jack and freight dolly

  • Coordinate deliveries between the two campus locations (Amarillo Campus and Mariposa Station)

  • Routinely lift 50 pounds or more independently

  • Standing most of the day and moving throughout building

  • Other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Previous experience working in a veterinary inventory environment with substantial knowledge of inventory needs, practice specific equipment and supplies

  • Previous experience with practice management software
