Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Staff will maintain ethical and professional communications at all times using respectful Trauma-Informed Care language
- Primary responsibility will serve as a Behavioral Health Professional regarding child/adolescent mental health and substance use for school and education service center (ESC) personnel
- Increase ESC and school personnel's awareness and understanding of mental health and co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders
- Assist personnel in the implementation of initiatives related to mental health or substance use
- Ensure personnel are aware of best practice-based program and research-based practices
- Responsible for attending all meetings required in the program, maintain and submit all reports required in compliance with the grant
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Assist in the communication to Region 16 districts about PAXIS behavior game
- A large amount of outreach and coordination to provide the core services within this grant is required
- Adheres to TPC Business Code of Conduct and reports concerns if ethical and/or business standards defined in the code are compromised
Required qualifications to be successful in the job:
- Master's degree from an accredited university with a major in psychology, sociology, social work, counseling, or other related human services field for QMHP credentialing
- Qualify as an LMSW, LPC-Associate, or Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts (LPHA) in good standing in the State of Texas
- Active license as an LMSW, LPC-Associate, LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or Licensed Psychologist
- Must have a valid Texas drivers license and be insurable under agency vehicle policy
- Must be 18 years of age or older
Preferred qualifications to be successful in the job:
- Bilingual
- Prior experience working for community behavioral health programs or within a school system
- Experience working with youth
- Direct care provision of substance use services
