This position is responsible for performing a broad range of fiscal operations to allow for the authorization and invoicing for participant services, while ensuring compliance with fiscal policy and guidelines. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Fiscal Assistant within the Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation Services, you will be responsible for monitoring and controlling operations of the District Office's fiscal processing system. This includes recommending and implementing changes to procedure to resolve any problem areas and/or enhance system efficiency. Work also involves monitoring service authorizations and purchase orders to assure proper management of cash flow and to ensure that funds requested do not exceed funds available in various grant categories. You will have the opportunity to recommend fiscal action necessary for proper processing of fiscal documents relative to fee catalog coding, allowable service amounts, proper case justification, and timeliness to clerical, counselors, supervisors, or management. Additional responsibilities include completing fiscal transactions in the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR) District Office, reviewing service authorizations in the CWDS System, as well as making corrective changes in funding codes.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the assigned headquarters office. Salary:Most employees will start at the beginning level of the advertised salary. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years of experience performing bookkeeping or clerical accounting work; or An associate degree in accounting or business administration including or supplemented by six credits in accounting; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
