UPMC Behavioral Health Therapist I - Altoona, PA in Altoona, Pennsylvania
The Behavioral Health of the Alleghenies adult outpatient program consist of caring professionals who serve individuals experiencing various behavioral health symptoms.
The Behavioral Health Therapist I will provide clinical treatment services to the targeted populations. This is an outpatient treatment program designed to service patients with a mental health diagnosis who meet dimensions for outpatient and/or partial hospitalization treatment criteria.
Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance and Documentation
Participate in quality assurance activities.
Complete same-day clinical documentation.
Provide clinical information for service authorization.
Document all patient-related work.
Maintain daily productivity records.
Patient Assessment and Treatment
Conduct supervised patient assessments.
Implement and adapt treatment models.
Provide individual and group therapy.
Engage families in treatment processes.
Educate patients on recovery.
Update treatment plans based on patient needs.
Case Review and Team Collaboration
Review cases with supervisors and clinical personnel.
Discuss additional service needs with the clinical team.
Refer patients to appropriate care levels and community services.
Participate in treatment team meetings to update plans and monitor progress.
Create comprehensive treatment plans for patients with complex needs.
Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Education in school counseling, or related field required. (Successfully completed the educational requirements as defined in practicing state's code)
One year of clinical experience preferred.
Knowledge of psychiatric evaluation and assessment process, as well as application of current version of the DSM preferred.
Experience in diagnosing and treating behavioral and psychiatric conditions preferred.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Passed the examination required by 49.11. relating to licensure examination Must sign a license agreement and be actively working to obtain the Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Work (LCSW), or Licensed Family Marriage Therapist (LMFT) within 30 months of hire.
