Aston Carter Accountant in Altoona, Pennsylvania
Description
Looking for an Entry Level Accountant who could assist in coordinating work within the department, as well as with other departments; reporting pertinent information to the immediate supervisor; responding to inquiries or requests for information.
Daily Duties
- Performs a variety of duties to support the accounting function as follows:
a. Process general ledger entries daily.
b. Process Additions, Disposals, Transfers and Depreciation entries in the fixed asset system and reconcile with General ledger.
c. Process transfers of money as needed and make appropriate journal entries with each transaction.
d. Prepare monthly AR and Inventory Certification for bank.
e. Enter payment on EFTPS for CS and CST for sales and use taxes.
f. Pay taxes on line ( FET, CAT, etc)
g. Reconcile bank accounts for each division.
h. Intercompany journal entries and reconciliation. Documentation, analysis, and reconciliation of various accounts as needed.
i. Assist Controller & CFO in year-end audit preparation.
j. Prepare Quarterly Compilation Reporting for Auditors.
k. Assist with Cash Management
l. Balance Sheet account reconciliations.
m. Analyze account information when requested.
Coordinates specific work tasks with other personnel within the department as well as with other departments in order to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information.
Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the work place.
Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the company’s compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor as requested, or according to an established schedule; compiles information as necessary or as directed and provides data to appropriate personnel.
Responds to inquiries relating to his/her particular area, or to requests from customers, other personnel, etc., within given time frames and within established policy.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
Associates degree in accounting or related field or equivalent work experience.
A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in related positions normally required.
Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills
Excellent interpersonal relations and communicative skills
Proficient PC skills, including Internet, Excel and other Microsoft Office suite
Organizational skills, flexibility, confidentiality, detail-oriented, and excellent organizational skills.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.85
