Job Overview:
Leads the training needs analysis and designs, implements and evaluates craft training programs and competency framework. Collaborate with multiple disciplines leaders to enhance employee skills, performance, productivity and quality of work.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Carry out local and project training needs analysis, develop and implement craft training matrices, forecasts and training plans
Conducts skills and competency assessment of craft employees with relevant discipline lead and design training plans to address the identified gaps
Leads the design, development, implementation, and control of craft training and competency programs
Maintain adequate level of qualified and competent staff
Provide technical advice, coaching, guidance and mentoring to trainers/assessors
Provide continuous staff development
Ensures appropriate training facilities, equipment, materials, and records are available and maintained
Reviews and monitors functional budget
Evaluates external training vendors, when required
Monitors compliance to internal and regulatory training requirements
Implements and monitors key performance metrics
Plans and conducts functional audits to assess compliance to procedures and effectiveness of training and competency programs
Essential Qualifications and Education:
Diploma graduate (or equivalent of education and experience) in a related field
Over 5 years training leadership, development and education experience
Good understanding of all technical disciplines involved (Mechanical, Electrical, Fitting, Welding), gained through extensive relevant industry experience. A minimum of 5 to 7 years' experience in Operations will be required.
Preferred Qualifications and Education:
Certified Assessor and Internal Verifier
In-depth understanding of training and developmental needs, designing and implementing effective training and competency management programs
Strong presentation, written communication and interpersonal skills
Computer skills required (i.e. MS Office and multimedia training platforms)
