Senior Full Stack Developer

What does a successful Senior Full Stack Developer do at Fiserv?

You will join our engineering group within Fiserv’s Global Business Solutions (Payment Acceptance) business, supporting our products and their deployments for use by internal and external customers. You will be a part of a small but growing team of hardworking people responsible for creating and maintaining a suite of innovative back-of-house web applications, APIs in a fast-paced purposeful environment. You will be responsible for ensuring adherence to the developed technology patterns, practices, and effect successful integrations with internal Fiserv business units and external customers.

What you will do:

  • Utilize your Java Server Engineering and Web Development experience in understanding the constraints and needs of the business to elevate the quality of the output of the entire team over time. Lead by example, prioritize quality, and help define the long-term architecture for the full suite of applications

  • Own one or more of the web services, adding new features, resolving bugs, and improving code base, also develop new features, investigating, reproducing, and resolving bugs

  • Design and implement REST APIs for mobile and web clients including our payment devices, web dashboard, and third-party applications

  • Identify technical requirements in product meetings and assist the business team with realistic project planning and feature development and translate product requirements into functional, maintainable, extensible software in-line with company objectives

  • Be responsible for your merchant-facing services, features from development through deployment, and production monitoring

  • Work with the Infrastructure Team to design data models to support large-scale available services, and with QA to develop test plans

  • Write automated tests for new web features

  • Follow Agile SDLC and participate in planning and Scrumban boards

What you will need to have:

  • 5+ years of Java development experience, including assigning and executing tasks throughout the entire SDLC

  • 5+ years of experience designing and developing RESTful APIs

  • 5+ years of experience developing solutions for distributed systems architecture including microservices with Spring Boot

  • 5+ years of experience with one or more SQL/RDBMS systems like Oracle, SQL Server, Cosmos DB, MongoDB, Cassandra or Redis

  • 5+ years of experience integrating with 3rd party APIs and tools

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, work, and military experience

What would be great to have

  • Passion for development and deep server-side development skills

  • Experience with a cloud platform like AWS, Google Cloud or Azure

  • Experience using ELK stack
