What is it that we do at Colonial Pipeline Company?
Colonial Pipeline is the largest refined products pipeline in the United States, transporting more than 100 million gallons or 2.5 million barrels per day. Colonial transports various grades of gasoline, diesel fuel, home heating oil, jet fuel, and fuels for the U.S. military through a pipeline system. Colonial transports approximately 45 percent of all fuel consumed on the East Coast, providing refined products to more than 50 million Americans.
About the Project Estimation Manager Position
The Project Estimation Manager is responsible for estimating, developing and managing all necessary project estimating activities for various energy expansion and maintenance projects. In this role you will lead the effort with internal and external engineering, procurement, and vendor resources to develop and maintain current market cost data. The Project Estimation Manager will also own the estimating process and assist in the generation of project scope development and project cost estimating.
What You Get to Do:
Develop strategies and ensure governance for the company-wide cost estimating activities related to maintenance and capital expansion projects.
Responsible for maintaining a global cost database related to labor, materials, and past project expenditures.
Drive the conversation around associated risks and cost of mitigation.
Present, explain, and justify project estimates to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
Spearhead the development of precise cost information necessary for ensuring competitive and viable project budgets and timelines.
Able to work with numerous internal departments and project stakeholders, as well as external companies and third parties.
Responsible for maintaining a base template of potential maintenance and capital expansion projects.
Advise project teams on potential constraints during the planning, design, and construction phases of project.
What You Bring to the Table:
Bachelors’ degree in Engineering, Construction, or other technically focused track from an accredited college or university; will consider a combination of experience and/or education.
Ideally, 7+ years of experience in the energy/utility industry or closely related sector.
Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
Understanding of energy-related maintenance and expansion projects.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as strong analytical skills and the ability to work with internal and external companies.
Ability to understand concepts of AI technology and utilize this technology to streamline accurate results.
