What does a successful Director of Software Development do at Fiserv?

You will lead a delivery team that is building the Merchants Onboarding & Client Implementations platforms. You will develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to improve the operational performance of the product development team.

Built to deliver innovation through simple, fast integrations, these platforms are used to onboard, configure and enable merchants across all acquisition channels and market segments for the Fiserv Merchants Solutions business. With multiple use-case specific UI flavors, as well as developer-friendly, flexible communication standards, unified APIs, and integrations with dozens of internal systems of record for payment products, settlement platforms and payment gateways, these platforms provide a low-friction onboarding journey for merchants to avail of Fiserv industry-leading payment processing and value-added products and services.

What you will do:

  • Lead a team of developers and manage their motivations while providing best-in-class experience to internal and external clients on reported incidents

  • Drive process improvement initiatives across the organization to increase productivity, reduce client-impacting defects, and ensure good quality fixes and no recurrence of issues

  • Participate in production deployments and set up a cadence to perform post implementation validations to ensure zero deployment impacts to live clients

What you will need to have:

  • 13+ years of experience in Java, GIT, JIRA, Maven, Confluence, Spring framework (Core, MVC, AOP, Java NIO), Spring Boot, and React

  • 10+ years of experience in leading/managing a team

  • 5+ years of practical cloud-native experience, including AWS

  • 5+ years of experience in stakeholder management and managing production defects

  • 5+ years of experience in implementing complex full stack solutions including digital and mobile systems, APIs, and microservices in large enterprise organizations

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, work, and/or military experience

What would be great to have:

  • Experience in merchant onboarding solutions and API integrations related to it

  • Experience with Snowflake

  • Experience working in the payments domain

  • Experience in implementing large-scale, enterprise integration platforms and Agile methodology experience
