Kemper’s Internship Program
An internship in our Product and Analytics Management University (PMU) will enable you to broaden your understanding of the business, make valuable connections, and set a course for your professional journey with us. You will work on special projects that positively impact our business and our customers.
PMU delivers meaningful internship experiences in the Kemper Auto Product Management, Data Science, and Pricing teams combining knowledge of the business, technical skills, and professional skills. Intern Responsibilities
Supports the development of analytical solutions.
Assists in developing and automating processes that can be deployed throughout the organization to solve reoccurring analytics needs.
Communicates work progress and challenges, analytical insights, and results to the working team.
Develops database, technical, and business knowledge.
Intern Requirements & Qualifications
Must be enrolled in an accredited Master's or PhD program in a quantitative field: Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, CS, Physics, MIS, Economics, etc.
Experience in visualizing data is a plus. Passion for machine-learning and research
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Proficient in Python programming language (scikit-learn, pandas, numpy, scipy, matplotlib, etc.)
Strong background in machine learning, statistics, and predictive models
Prior experience of working with imbalanced datasets and AWS is a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Energetic and eager to tackle new projects
Interest in insurance and financial services
Good collaborative and relationship-building skills
This position is a hybrid role and may require regular reporting to the office.
