Job Title: CMT Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated CMT Technician to perform field observation and testing during the placement of construction materials including soil, concrete, asphalt, and reinforcing steel. The role involves preparing reports documenting observations and test results, facilitating contractor relationships, and communicating with contractors and engineers to discuss observations and test results. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in performing rudimentary mathematical computations.

Responsibilities

• Perform field observation and testing of construction materials including soil, concrete, asphalt, and reinforcing steel.

• Prepare comprehensive reports documenting observations and test results.

• Facilitate and maintain contractor relationships.

• Communicate effectively with contractors and engineers regarding observations and test results.

• Perform basic mathematical computations as required.

Essential Skills

• 2+ years of experience testing soils, concrete, or asphalt on construction sites.

• ACI Certification.

• Proficiency in construction materials testing.

• Experience with nuclear density gauge and soil sampling.

• Knowledge of soil compaction and geotechnical principles.

• Ability to use reporting software.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• ACI and ICC certifications.

• Experience with concrete testing and soil testing.

• Ability to lift up to 50-75 pounds.

• Capability to work independently or with another technician on dam sites.

• Experience with asphalt testing.

Work Environment

This is a field position requiring work outside on construction sites. Candidates may work alone or with another technician on dam sites, conducting soil and concrete testing in both the field and laboratory. The role necessitates occasional lifting of up to 50-75 pounds and physical ability to navigate construction sites. Possible project site locations include Newnan, Canton, Macon, and Decatur, GA. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $31.00/hr.
