ACME Cryogenics, Inc. Welder in Allentown, Pennsylvania
SUMMARY
Assists welders engaged in rehabilitation of cryogenic containers by performing the following duties.
*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES *include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Entry level TIG welding of piping from 3/8" tubing to 2" pipe
- MIG welding of steel shapes, learning fabrication techniques
- Utilizes hand tools such as wrenches, plyers, screw drivers, and hammers to disassemble or assemble components and equipment.
- Grinds, sands, cleans, or polishes objects or parts to correct defects or to prepare surfaces for further finishing utilizing hand or power grinder and power sander.
- Paints touch up on equipment.
- Prepares equipment for shipment, secures and verifies equipment placing in shipping container.
- Measures, with tape measure, and marks equipment, and verifies accuracy.
- Utilizes plasma cutter or acetylene torch to cut metal pieces.
- Lifts, positions, and removes workpieces from machines to assist in fitting and welding.
- Holds tape and rods and marks reference points to assist in layout.
- Loads, stacks, and transports stock, tools, and work in process by hand or by hand cart.
- Picks up and moves scrap from work areas; takes scarp or trash to proper outside containers.
- Reads work orders or other instructions to determine products specifications or material requirements.
- Records operational or production data.
- Follows written and oral instructions to perform tasks accurately.
- Works in a safe manner, keeps work area, machines, tools, and equipment clean and in orderly fashion.
- Performs other routine duties as requested.

- Mechanical background
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED): or one year certificate from college or technical school in welding; or one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Welding training and/or work experience helpful.
