Role Summary:
The role of a Quality Manager for Inbound and Returns is pivotal in ensuring the seamless flow of products within the supply chain while maintaining high-quality standards. This manager is responsible for developing and implementing robust quality control measures for incoming goods, meticulously inspecting products to guarantee they meet specified criteria. Additionally, the Quality Manager oversees the returns process, conducting thorough assessments of returned items to determine their condition and deciding whether they can be restocked, refurbished, or if further action is needed. Collaborating closely with various departments, the Quality Manager implements and enforces quality assurance procedures, providing leadership in continuous improvement initiatives. This role requires keen attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to make data-driven decisions to optimise product quality, reduce defects, and enhance overall customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the inspection of incoming goods to ensure they meet quality standards.
Manage the Returned Quality Check process, assessing the condition of returned items.
Develop and implement efficient and effective inspection processes.
Ensure that inspection procedures are consistently followed.
Establish refurbishing infrastructure.
Conduct thorough checks on products to verify compliance with quality standards.
Identify and address any deviations or defects in the products.
Assess the integrity of products to ensure they meet safety and reliability standards.
Implement measures to prevent and detect any potential issues that may compromise product integrity.
Maintain detailed records of inspection results and findings.
Generate reports on the quality and integrity status of products.
Collaborate with suppliers to address quality concerns and implement improvements.
Work closely with other departments, such as production and logistics, to ensure a seamless flow of quality products.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement corrective actions.
Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging quality standards.
Provide training to staff involved in the inspection processes.
Keep team members updated on changes in quality standards and procedures.
Ensure that products meet or exceed customer expectations regarding quality and integrity.
Investigate and resolve any quality-related issues or complaints.
Qualifications:
Hands-on experience with Quality Management Systems: implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement.
Strong analytical skills: capable of interpreting complex data, creating comprehensive reports and deriving actionable insights.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail while maintaining meticulous records.
Excellent communication skills including the ability to write clear and concise directions and effectively convey information verbally.
Strong commitment to quality demonstrated by their ability to develop, implement and maintain high standards in their work.
Proficient in English, both written and spoken, to communicate effectively with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
Experience in managing and leading teams with a proven tack record of coaching and mentoring.
