Air Products is looking for an Advanced Systems Product Engineer at our Global Headquarters in Allentown, PA. You will be responsible for providing a broad range of technical support to projects, customers, maintenance technicians and other Customer Engineering personnel for Advanced Systems, Customer Engineering and H2fm Systems. This Engineering position will provide an opportunity to work closely with external customers and requires interface with numerous internal organizations including Sales, Logistics, Product Management, Customer Service and Operations. The role is a part of the Americas Business Management and Supply Chain organization.

The primary product focus is on the documentation, design, fabrication, installation, and startup of Advanced Systems that require high pressure or high flow at customer locations. These applications are in hydrogen, nitrogen, argon, helium, oxygen service. The role also encompasses the ongoing support of equipment that Air Products supplied for various customer industrial gas applications.

Typical projects involve compression equipment along with associated controls, piping, and gas storage. These systems supply diverse applications including petrochemicals, refining, manufacturing, alternative fuel applications, and testing. Projects are a combination of engineer-to-order systems that meet the industrial gas needs of our customers as well as product-based systems to provide low-cost solutions for various applications. You will work with internal and external customers, suppliers, and fabricators in a multidisciplinary role as both a product engineer, design engineer and project engineer.

Key Job Responsibilities:

Document, design, and manage new Advanced Systems / Customer Station / H2fm equipment builds and / or modifications to existing systems from the proposal phase through implementation.

Utilize and build upon existing product documentation set.

Execution of equipment builds for projects with a cost range of $25,000 - $3,000,000.

Provide engineering support to Air Products' customers, sales personnel, and the Customer Engineering Maintenance organization.

Generate installation cost estimates, BOM's, detailed Equipment layouts, foundation drawings and P&ID's.

Provide technical support to internal Commercial and Operations teams and external customers to solve problems with installed equipment or improve existing operations.

Lead the design and development of new product equipment offerings.

Follow all internal work processes for safety, engineering, project management, and operations.

Drive the company culture of Safety, Speed, Simplicity and Self-confidence within the project team.

Scope of Support: Installed ase of over 200 Advanced Systems, 40 H2fm systems and thousands of customers with cryogenic liquid and bulk gas systems.

Technical Complexity: This position requires knowledge of Customer Engineering including full spectrum of cryogenic and gaseous storage and supply systems.

Financial Impact: This role has direct impact on the design, installation, and maintenancecosts of Advanced Systems with opportunities to reduce costs or increase revenue based on work process improvement projects and use of more efficient controls technology.

Supply Chain Impact: This position has significant customer contact, directly with customers representatives and commercial units.

Required Skills / Abilities: Cross-functional engineering experience with a basic knowledge of project development and project engineering. A passion and ability to think creatively, to develop new concepts, and to design completely new systems and technologies is required. Strong technical skills and an interest to apply them are critical to the position.

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills

Self-directed, self-motivated, able to work independently.

Minimum Hiring Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in chemical or mechanical engineering.

Excellent customer management skills.

5+ years Engineering experience.

Travel: 10-20%, within North America.
