ManpowerGroup Maintenance Technician- Lead in Allentown, Pennsylvania

This position is responsible for providing and coordinating Production Mechanics day-to-day plant maintenance functions on their shift. Responsible for maintenance operating efficiencies, safety, housekeeping, and quality workmanship. Primary contact with Production Supervisors to coordinate work with maintenance staff on duty. Executes preventive maintenance programs. Effectively coordinates maintenance activities with production, warehouse, and quality. Lead Production Maintenance Mechanic will provide support to the leadership team and employees at the site.

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Leads all Production Mechanics on their scheduled shifts.

  • Coordinates maintenance workers by scheduling repairs, and planning maintenance and installation activities.

  • Coordinates maintenance activities on utility systems to provide continuous supply of heat, steam, electric power, gas, or air required for operations.

  • Reviews production, quality control and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities.

  • Identifies the training needs of shift personnel in all aspects of their jobs consistent with established operating procedures.

  • Ensures safety in the workplace by eliminating unsafe conditions and unsafe employee behaviors.

  • Protect Company assets by the direct intervention of any condition resulting in the abuse of equipment or buildings.

  • Executes the preventive maintenance program in conjunction with the maintenance staff.

  • Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards.

  • Confers with management, engineering, and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment.

  • Participates in the planning of new installations.

  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.

  • Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of maintenance staff.

  • Analyzes and troubleshoot equipment problems.

  • Assists maintenance staff in solving equipment problems.

  • Other duties, as assigned and/or required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, or GED.

  • 2+ years related experience in a food grade facility.

  • Must be a self-starter capable of working in a team-based environment.

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Aseptic processing and high-speed form/fill/seal packaging experience.

  • Boiler License and/or Electrician’s License is a plus.

  • Technical Ability - Understand complex manufacturing equipment and processes.

  • Detail Orientation - Breaks large tasks into small parts and understands the small parts that make up the whole. Speaks with data.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of Managers, clients, and customers.

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.

  • Computer Skills - To perform in this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of business software, and manufacturing software (HMIs, PLCs, manufacturing controls).

  • Reasoning Ability - Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardizations exist. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions finished in written, oral diagram or schedule form.

  • Business Acumen - Aligns work with plant goals.

Additional Considerations:

  • Location: This position will be at the Plant in Allentown, PA.

  • Must be able to work flexible hours.

  • Relocation or international remote working arrangements (outside of the US) will not be considered.
