POSITION DESCRIPTION
FLSA (Exempt/Non-Exempt) - Exempt
Hours - 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in office 5 days per week
The EHS Manager is responsible for the maintenance and execution of Environmental, Health and Safety management systems to provide a secure/safe work environment and maintain compliance with regulatory obligations. Informs key stakeholders on actions necessary to support compliance and engages multiple site Teams in achieving goals. Works to ensure company initiatives are properly installed and executed and to ensure adherence of positive environmental stewardship consistent with company policy and values. Serves as champion for environmental and safety programs.
OVERALL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensures all environmental programs, procedures, training, work practices and controls are effectively implemented for the Glenmark Site.
Will be responsible for identifying and implementing Behavioral Based Safety within the organization. This includes measuring and enhancing safety within the business.
Identifies applicable environmental, health and safety regulations and risks while interacting with Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Glenmark senior leadership to implement acceptable systems to ensure compliance and conformance to Glenmark policies.
Leads EHS awareness and implements new, innovative techniques to ensure a safe working environment.
Participates in budget preparation and tracking, establishing and monitoring progress toward department goals.
Ensures that program objectives are completed by providing clear, continuous Safety direction.
Identifies required support from outside consultants, develops scopes of work and manages issuance of contracts.
Manages environmental processes to assure proper waste management and minimization practices in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Manages environmental processes within the facility to assure permitted facilities under the Clean Air Act operate in compliance with regulatory requirements and permit obligations.
Monitors developing environmental, health and safety federal, state, and local regulatory requirements and risk initiatives; analyze potential impacts on system operations; provide operations and senior leadership with information, as appropriate.
Coordinates and communicates the identification, development and implementation of EHS goals which will positively impact and add value to the organization.
Manages workers compensation claims.
Maintains continued presence on floor as a coach, observer, trainer and main point of contact for EHS assistance.
Participates in incident investigations and root cause analysis as the EHS expert on the team.
Facilitates required EHS training for the facility to ensure OSHA and company standards/regulations are maintained.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Education
Bachelor-s degree required (Engineering, Science, Safety or Environmental - Highly preferred)
MS Degree preferred
OSHA or ASSP Certification required
Experience
7+ years- of progressive experience leading safety and/or environmental management systems
Previous experience leading safety initiatives in a multi-site distribution environment
Knowledge and Skills
Demonstrated people skills and ability to lead.
Must be able to positively motivate employees at all levels and drive change.
Strong understanding of lean fundamentals desired.
Strong knowledge of safety and environmental regulations and the ability to apply such in a distribution setting.
Proven interaction skills with regulatory inspectors including accompaniment on inspections and follow-up activities as required. Ability to influence prioritization of activities in order to maintain compliance.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Strong presentation and public speaking skills.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects and meeting all required deadlines.
Strong sense of urgency in meeting customer needs.
Action oriented team player that works well with cross functionally.
Ability to multi-task, with excellent organizational and communication skills, proven problem solving skills and can think "outside the box"
Skilled in process management, planning and change management.
Ability to adapt to rapidly changing business circumstance and have the ability to thrive in a constantly changing business environment.
Basic PC Skills (MS Office suite, ERP experience, etc.)
