Required Skills / Abilities: Must have experience with gas detection techniques such as spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, gas chromatography, electrochemical sensors, and paramagnetic sensors. Experience working in a lab environment. Good organizational and interpersonal skills. Possess the physical ability to move gas cylinders, lift 50 lbs., and set up analyzers in the lab or in the field. Travel up to 25% throughout the Americas region & be on call for off-hour emergencies.
Key Job Responsibilities: Provide technical expertise in the following areas related to analytical instrument technology: performance testing, installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Maintain an analytical laboratory in good working order and according to Air Products standards. Support analytical requests from operating facilities. Support analyzer installation, sample conditioning system testing and field maintenance for the analytical team. Work with other team members to test new analytical technologies. Build and maintain meaningful relationships with fellow Air Products employees across the Americas. Demonstrate compliance with company policies and follow company work processes, particularly with regards to documenting work. Ability to be on-call and respond to off-hour emergencies.
Minimum Hiring Requirements: Associate Degree in Chemistry, or a related scientific field is preferred. Must have 3 to 5 years of experience with analytical instrumentation in the Specialty Gas or Industrial Gas industries.
