Ministry Support (Diakon Lutheran Social Ministries) Admissions Coordinator in Allentown, Pennsylvania
Category/Shift/Hours per 2 week pay period: Full-Time / Day Shift / 75 hours per pay period
This position can work at any of our senior living facilities in Pennsylvania and will support our four senior living facilities:
Luther Crest - Allentown
The Lutheran Home at Topton
Cumberland Crossings - Carlisle
Buffalo Valley - Lewisburg
General Responsibilities:
a. Handles walk-in or telephone inquiries and follows up on them by conducting tours, completing inquiry and pre-assessment forms; completing admission paperwork, and fulfilling requests for information.
b. Assists with orienting residents/families upon admission to the unit.
c. Reviews resident handbook with the new resident.
d. Reviews unoccupied beds and recommends transfer and/or discharge activity to maximize available beds and services.
e. Conducts discussions with key center staff to review upcoming admissions and discharges, evaluate difficult or complex potential admissions, discuss possible room changes or transfers and coordinate all pre-admissions activities.
f. Assists in establishing and maintaining after-hours inquiry handling and tour procedures.
g. Assists in training staff in all function related to inquiry handling, admissions, touring and intake
Education/Training: Bachelor's degree in Health or business related discipline, including nursing rehabilitation therapy, medical marketing and/or sales or new business development preferred
Experience: A minimum of two (2) years' relevant work experience is required, preferably in an admissions position where working with customers was a significant part of the position.
ADA: Ability to sit, stand, lift, bend, reach, push, and pull items weighing up to 50 lbs.; visual and auditory skills.
