Virtual Medical Receptionist/Practice Assistant Job Description

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced, friendly, Medical Receptionist with a passion for enhancing patient experience. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a growing practice while having the flexibility of a part-time, remote position.

As a Virtual Medical Receptionist, you will be the command center of the practice. You will be the first point of contact for our patients, managing appointments, patient inquiries, and administrative tasks, all while providing exceptional customer service. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our practice and maintaining a positive patient experience.

You will need to be available to work at least 75% of the following hours. Subject to some flexibility. Monday 9am- 6pm EST Tuesday 10am- 3pm EST Wednesday 9am- 7pm EST Thursday 9am- 2pm EST Friday 9am- 5pm EST (1 hour breaks on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. 1/2 hour breaks on Tuesday and Thursday.)

Primary Responsibilities

  • Patient intake, registration, check-in, and patient hand-offs to the Nurse Practitioner
  • Facilitating the exchange of information between multiple systems in a timely and efficient manner
  • Answering incoming calls from patients in a professional and friendly manner, and performing phone outreach as needed
  • Managing other clinical tasks as assigned by clinical care team members, including but not limited to prior authorizations for medications
  • Maintaining and managing accurate patient records
  • Collaborating with the team to implement new processes and refine existing ones
  • Attending virtual meetings with staff
