TIG Welder

Aerotek is currently looking to hire a TIG Welder for a client located in Alexandria, Virginia for a full-time job opening!

About:

• This position supports the fabrication team in a metal fabrication shop.

• The role involves creating custom pieces for metal kitchen designs, custom house railings, high-end elevator artworks, and more.

• The primary task is TIG welding, which requires specific techniques and precision.

Responsibilities

• Perform TIG welding and fabrication, including reading blueprints, material preparation, and machine setup (60%).

• Assist with installation issues at client sites (20%).

• Maintain a clean and organized shop environment (20%).

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in TIG welding.

• Experience welding various metals such as:

• Stainless steel

• Brass

• Aluminum

• Copper

• Ability to weld materials as thin as 20 gauge and as thick as a quarter inch.

• Familiarity with fabricating equipment like band saws, cold saws, brake presses, and water jets.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in aerospace, decorative metal, or elevator industries.

• Coachability and willingness to learn new techniques.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Work Environment

This role is based in a warehouse environment, working mostly on individual projects.

Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as steel-toe boots and a welding shield is required.

No certifications, DOT, licensing, or medical requirements are necessary.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
