MDW ASSOCIATES LLC Management Analyst in ALEXANDRIA, Virginia

MDW is currently seeking aManagement Analystto support the Office of the Assistant to the Secretary of Defense for Privacy, Civil Liberties, and Transparency (OATSD(PCLT)) in Alexandria, VA. The analyst will provide full-time support services to the OATSD(PCLT)'s Administrative Office, the Privacy, Civil Liberties, and Freedom of Information Directorate (PCLFD), Intelligence Oversight Directorate (IOD), and the Regulatory Directorate (RD) within the OATSD(PCLT).The successful candidate must demonstrate a familiarity with, and ability to be effective in, the DoD working environment.

The Management Analyst will perform tasks to potentially include:

  • Utilizing research and analytical skills to support the mission of government personnel. Research to be primarily focused on government activities, such as statutes, regulations, memoranda, decisional analyses, and other binding or advisory guidance.
  • Providing support to track, integrate, and report on strategic documents and initiatives and activities of senior governance councils and departmental efforts through web portals including SharePoint Sites on NIPRnet, SIPRnet and JWICS; Regulatory platform; FOIA platform, and Privacy and Civil Liberties workflow platforms.
  • Maintaining comprehensive governance calendars with associated meeting reports.
  • Developing read-aheads and agendas as necessary.
  • Promoting and maintaining strategic initiative tracking and reporting.
  • Monitoring and reporting compliance-related matters and trends.
  • Aggregating and preparing website and SharePoint data for agency reports and posting final reports to the Government websites.
  • Knowledge management and public facing Website management.
  • Assisting with managing programs and activities related to the protection of individual civil liberties and the privacy of individuals' information including the public complaints process, data sharing, breach response, and Component outreach.
  • Providing analytical FOIA, privacy, and civil liberties program support to assist OSD and DoD Components and promoting and maintaining strategic tracking, reporting, and accountability.
  • Assisting in gathering and analyzing data and preparing presentations and formal / informal documentation responses in support of internal and external reporting needs.
  • Assisting the Government processing of FOIA appeals and reviewing significant FOIA cases.
  • Assisting the Government with preparing training materials and guides for DoD's FOIA, privacy, and civil liberties programs.
  • Coordinating, tracking, and monitoring tasks, actions, and projects using internal and external methods and tools.
  • Providing advice and collaborating with other administrative team personnel regarding suspense and tracking control methods used to ensure that deadlines are met.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Experience working within the DoD or other Federal agency, or as contract support to such agency, working with Federal regulatory, privacy, civil liberties, or FOIA program(s).
  • Familiarity with, and ability to interpret and apply, DOD Directive 5148.13, Intelligence Oversight.
  • Skill in communicating with senior leaders (e.g., interpersonal skills, approachability, effective listening, appropriate use of style and language).
  • The ability to interact with people at various levels within and outside the organization and to obtain information.

Education Requirement/Required Years of Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher. At least two (2) years' work experience with demonstrated skills and experience to provide executive level project and program support required.

Clearance Requirement(s):

  • Candidates for this position must have an Active US Security Clearance (Secret)
