U.S. Army Medical Command Administrative Officer in Alexandria County, Virginia
Summary About the Position: Serves as Administrative Officer and Officer Manager (Joint Base San Antonio- JBSA or DHHQ Falls Church, VA) under the assigned Directorate for the DCS G-8/9, Headquarters, United States Army Medical Command (USA MEDCOM). You will perform a variety of administrative functions essential to office management, customer service, document management, communication, travel, database management, special programs, budget management and personnel management. Responsibilities Monitor and maintain programs by generating weekly un- submitted vouchers and reports to ensure travelers are following the Fiscal Law. Provide weekly report on training statistics to Directorate leadership. Monitor, track, and certify monthly GPC statements by the assigned Directorates Government Purchase Credit Card Holders (GPC). Respond to routine and non-technical requests for information such as status of reports, authorized/assigned personnel strengths, hiring actions etc. Develop guidance for administrative functions of the assigned Directorate based on policies and guidance from the front office staff. Update administrative office procedures that facilitate orderly and efficient workflow within the Directorate. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service which includes: Develop, evaluate, and advise on improvements to internal administrative processes, procedures, and methods; monitor, track, and certify monthly GPC statements by the assigned Directorates Government Purchase Credit Card Holders (GPC), initiate monthly report and maintain database of training funds spent during fiscal year, obtain access, monitor, track, and update completed training in the Digital Training Management System (DTMS). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as Business or Administration. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Activity Program Coordinator for Purchase Card Administration and Management Compliance Management Support Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09). Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: Qualifying education gained at colleges and universities in foreign countries must be evaluated in terms of its equivalency to that acquired in American colleges and universities. Applicants educated in whole or in part in foreign countries must submit evidence, including transcripts, to an accredited private organization for an equivalency evaluation. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required.
