Position: Systems Engineer IV)

Location: 800 Bradbury SE, Suite 235, Albuquerque, NM 87106 and Old Hwy 60, Magdalena, NM 87825

Duties: Define and lead processes, activities, products, tools and controls used during the lifecycles of the Next-Generation Very Large Array ( ngVLA ) project to support the successful design, development, deployment and commissioning of complex systems. Support project management in planning activities. Lead system designs, engineering studies and analysis, technology planning, system architecture development, requirement development and analysis, and concept of operations development. Monitor system development and participate in development lifecycle reviews. Lead testing and evaluation of delivered systems. Execute system operation functions, and specify construction procedures and infrastructure support requirements. Lead and develop specifications for control systems and components. Perform modeling and simulation. Perform engineering tests on an Offset Gregorian antenna and signal path and ensure antenna meets requirements before scientific testing. Develop systems acquisition and lifecycle management plans. Assist Project Manager with analyses, reviews, proposals, and other managerial-related activities. Review existing programs and assist in making refinements, reducing operating time, and improving current techniques. Supervise junior Systems Engineers.

Requirements: Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent in electrical or electronic engineering or related field plus ten years of experience. Experience must include: Offset Gregorian antenna testing; Operating Systems (Windows, Linux) and MS Office suite; Vitech CORE; Oracle Primavera P6 planning software; eB configuration management tool (ALIM); FEKO Collaboration Tools; and Python. INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) certificate. Skill set does not need to be maintained over the full term of required experience.
