Linquest Corporation Senior Model Based Systems Engineer II in Albuquerque, New Mexico

Description

LinQuest is seeking a Model Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) to join our team in Albuquerque, NM supporting the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center. An active DoD Secret clearance is required.

In this role, you will support the Nuclear Weapons Center Air Delivered Capabilities Directorate to develop and maintain system models to support acquisition, modernization, and sustainment of air delivered nuclear weapon systems. By leveraging a Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approach, the person in this position will help integrate and execute life cycle activities, including modernization, tech refresh, and emerging requirements in accordance with DoD and DOE acquisition processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement MBSE methodologies to develop, analyze, and maintain system models in support of acquisition, modernization, and sustainment of air delivered nuclear weapon systems.

  • Use models as an integral part of the analytical workflow that includes requirements, analysis, design (developer), implementation, and verification of a capability or system throughout the acquisition life cycle.

  • Use multi-attribute tradespace exploration (MATE) to generate insights into design solutions through enumeration and evaluation of performance, cost, and value models.

  • Capture data and maintain consistent systems definition as the program evolves as part of a continuous digital thread of information through sustainment.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build models to analyze complex system requirements and provide innovative solutions.

  • Ensure compliance with industry best practices.

  • Work closely with project stakeholders including requirements SMEs, project managers, and integration and test engineers, to gather and refine system modeling requirements.

  • Some travel to support customer mission and goals may be required

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Systems Engineering or equivalent Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics highly desired.

  • 10+ years of Systems Engineering experience relating to Aerospace and Defense projects, such as major weapons systems or major programs (e.g., Acquisition Category (ACAT) desired.

  • Proficiency in Systems Modeling Language (SysML) and Unified Architecture Framework (UAF) modeling language.

  • Able to convey complex technical concepts to stakeholders, including scientists, engineers, program managers, and customers.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and proven ability to work effectively with all organizational levels, including a matrixed environment.

  • Able to work in a secure, confined location

  • An active DoD Secret clearance

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Nuclear weapon system background highly desired

  • Familiarity with air delivered weapons and associated platforms

  • 2+ years of Model-Based Systems Engineering experience highly desired
