ASM Global Part Time Electrician in Albuquerque, New Mexico
POSITION: Electrician
DEPARTMENT: Operations
REPORTS TO: Engineering Manager
FLSA STATUS: Hourly, Non-Exempt
Summary
The Electrician installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment.
Distributes and picks-up power drops as needed.
Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment.
Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.
Tests malfunctioning machinery and discusses malfunction with Electrician Supervisor or other maintenance workers to diagnose malfunction.
Replaces faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches, and motors, and positions sensing devices.
Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards.
Replaces electric motor bearings and rewires motors.
Plans layout of high and low voltage wiring and installs wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings.
Diagnoses and replaces faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
Skills and Abilities
Ability to prioritize and to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong problem solving skills required.
Good written, verbal and interpersonal skills required; ability to interact with all levels of staff including management.
Professional presentation, appearance and work ethic.
Requires ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays in addition to normal business hours.
Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma, Trade School Degree or General Education Degree (GED). Certified Electrician requirement.
1-3 years related experience and/or training in Electrical and HVAC or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of national electrical codes.
Commercial three phase experience.
Supervisory Responsibilities
