Sandia National Laboratories Intern, Business Graduate Year Round - International Security & Risk Management, Onsite in Albuquerque, New Mexico
What Your Job Will Be Like:
We are seeking a year-round business graduate intern. This position requires on-site work at our Sandia Albuquerque location. What your job will be like:
On any given day, you may be called on to:
Partner with Regional Security Officers in identifying and mitigating security risks for international business travelers across Sandia's mission.
Compile and analyze data, create presentations, communicate security messages and plans, and participate in meetings to identify and assess international security risks.
Assist with the set up and development of security briefings and trainings.
Plan, develop, and coordinate agendas for security working group meetings and support the program administrator.
Review/update security procedures to ensure compliance with Sandia and DOE directives.
Conduct operations related to the official foreign travel process.
Accurately develop security-related information for members of the workforce through effective verbal or written communications.

Our pay structure is based on earned credit hours, classification, and degree level. Your pay rate will be determined during the hire process and included in your offer package. Qualifications We Require:
You bring the confidence and skills to be eligible for the job by meeting these minimum requirements:
Earned bachelor's degree
Currently attending and enrolled full time in a related accredited graduate program
Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0
Ability to work up to 30 hours per week during the academic year, and up to 40 hours per week during the summer
Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship
Qualifications We Desire:
Experience providing excellent customer service
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment, with team members and independently with minimal supervision
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, as well as Visio and/or Publisher
Interest in national security
Experience speaking/presenting in front of audiences greater than 20
Experience leading projects and/or team initiatives
Experience with audits, inventories, or assessments
Demonstrated strong organizational and critical thinking skills
Ability to conduct independent research and draft conclusions/recommendations

International Security & Risk Management (9226) is part of Sandia’s Safeguards & Security (S&S) program, whose primary function is the protection and support of Sandia’s mission, information, resources, and people. We are responsible for leading efforts to develop, implement, and successfully execute a diverse portfolio of S&S-related programs. We help to mitigate security risks through two security functions. International Security Operations (ISO) supports international travelers before and during travel with a variety of risk management activities and capabilities. The Foreign Interactions Office (FIO) is responsible for ensuring foreign nationals have been appropriately vetted and approved in accordance with the Department of Energy (DOE) and Sandia policies.

Security Clearance:
Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants for employment need to be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. If you hold more than one citizenship (i.e., of the U.S. and another country), your ability to obtain a security clearance may be impacted.

NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs:
If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.
