TECOLOTE RESEARCH INC Cost Estimator in Albuquerque, New Mexico
Overview The position requires a minimum of five years of Government experience in one of the following areas: Cost Estimating, Commitment/Obligation/Expenditure (C/O/E) Reconciliation, and Program Control experience to include Earned Value Management.
Responsibilities The applicant will be responsible for developing and delivering cost estimates for defense acquisition related projects. Applicant should have a thorough understanding of cost estimating, defense acquisition and the Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Execution System (PPBES). Applicant will be responsible for creating estimates using ACEIT, Excel, and other software tools. The applicant may be required to work with higher DoD and NASA officials and communicate with prime contractor personnel. Applicant should be proficient in the use of M/S office applications, i.e., M/S Project, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Excellent verbal communication, written, and quantitative analytical skills are required. Applicant must be proficient in performing government cost estimating activities such as cost/price analysis, WBS development, and risk analysis. Familiarity of cost estimating principles/DoD and NASA acquisition policies; DoD and NASA project management process are desirable. Additionally, a strong working knowledge of ACEIT is highly desirable. Applicant must be able to work in a team environment. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a security clearance.
Skills Required The position requires a minimum of five years of Government experience in one of the following areas: Cost Estimating Commitment/Obligation/Expenditure (C/O/E) Reconciliation Program Control experience to include Earned Value Management. Possess at least five years of relevant experience supporting DoD and NASA programs Experience with a large, complex space systems; or a large, complex very closely related Government weapon system. Require cost estimating experience on Acquisition Category (ACAT)/ Major Defense Acquisition Program (MDAP) within U.S. Air Force. Seven years of space experience may substitute for a BS/BA, and an MS/MA will substitute for two years of related government experience. The position requires at least five years of government experience. Three years experience credit for a Bachelors degree or four years credit for a relevant Masters degree in Business Management, Economics, Math, Engineering, or Economics.
Education Bachelors degree required, preferably in math, engineering, business, or the sciences.
